Tree Swallows
are quite tolerant of humans and prefer a
natural habitat in areas with tall
vegetation and a forest with a dense
canopy of trees. Our Tree Swallow House
is also suitable for Violet-green
Swallows, Tufted Titmice, Prothonotary
Warblers, House Finches
& Carolina Wrens.
Optional Slate Squirrel Guard available
to provide extra protection from
squirrels that like to enlarge the
entrance hole and occupy a bird house.
Tree Swallow houses should be placed 5 to
15 feet high on a post or tree in open
areas. They should be spaced 30 to 100
feet apart with the entrance hole facing
east. Breeding season usually begins
